Week 23

Week 23 is here! After looking through all the pictures we have taken thus far, it's pretty humorous to see the earlier photos and how I thought I was so BIG....but it was really nothing in comparison to now! I'm sure I will laugh when looking back at this photo as well once I'm over 30+ weeks :)

I have the same story as far as how I'm feeling - overall really well. Some growing pains, etc but nothing out of the norm. We went to the doctor on Monday and all is well. I gained 8 lbs, so we're on the right track now! Next time I go back (4 weeks) I will take the glucose test, so I'll have to hold off on those cupcakes and sweets the weekend before!

Josh painted the nursery this weekend, pink and brown! Yes, a color he never thought he would buy. It looks so great though. We still have some final touches before the crib will get put together (crown molding, chair rail, electrical outlets, etc). I will post pictures once all those updates are complete.

In the next couple of weeks we are looking forward to our first shower, a trip back to Oklahoma to see my family and friends, and more nesting! I have to say, I always thought pregnancy would just be an awful experience, but it has been fabulous so far. We're both getting really excited for the arrival of our little girl, who we are calling Ellie Grace right now to see how it fits. No final decisions yet though!

Week 21

Maternity Clothes shopping has begun! I have to admit though, I kinda love all the stretchiness of the clothes! I think I have just been squeezing into my regular clothes, not knowing how much more comfortable I could be! I have some great friends (ahem, Christy) who have loaned me tons of cute clothes, so I don't have to spend too much. Aside from the clothes, I have continued to feel good. I have been feeling her move since about early week 20, and Josh felt her later that week. She's defintely growing, as most people are now noticing I "look" pregnant. I feel much slower, like I can get up as quickly, can't be on my feet as long as I used to be able to, etc. All part of the fun! We picked up the crib last weekend and Josh refinished my old dresser. I should have taken a picture so you could see it, it looks awesome! He did a great job and I think it will be a perfect piece in her room. Now we just need to clear out her room, paint the walls and assemble the crib...we've got lots of time right? :)

So here's the deal from here on out, not more bare belly pictures. I think it's great when people feel comfortable enough doing that, but as mine expands I would just feel more comfortable having a layer of clothing over the bump! Until week 23, CIAO!
